The Stratasys J850 Prime is the flagship of PolyJet™ 3D printing, delivering the most realistic prototypes and models available today. Designed for product designers, engineers and researchers, it combines true-to-life colour, multi-material versatility and unrivalled detail in a single platform.

With support for over 600,000 PANTONE®-validated colours and the ability to print up to seven materials simultaneously, the J850 Prime allows you to create prototypes that look, feel and perform like the final product. From rigid and transparent components to flexible rubber-like parts, or combinations of multiple materials in one build, it opens up endless possibilities for design validation and functional testing.

The large build volume (490 × 390 × 200 mm) and advanced print modes give you the freedom to produce everything from fast, low-cost concept models to highly detailed, presentation-ready parts with ultra-smooth finishes. Its intuitive workflow, powered by GrabCAD Print™, streamlines the process from CAD to final model, while soluble or water-jet removable supports simplify post-processing.

Specialised material kits, such as the FabriX Innovation Kit, further expand the application range by enabling printing directly on fabrics and flexible substrates—ideal for wearables, soft goods and innovative product development.

Whether you’re accelerating design cycles, improving communication with stakeholders, or performing functional testing, the Stratasys J850 Prime ensures your prototypes leave nothing to the imagination.

Materials

Stratasys offer a wide range of materials to support the J850 Prime PolyJet 3D printer. These include rigid, flexible, transparent and opaque polymers that enable almost any colour and texture possibility needed to create realistic models. The material range can be divided up into:

  • Basic Materials – Ideal for prototyping and proof od concept
  • Design Materials – A range of opaque to transparent coloured polymers with tailored mechanical properties
  • Functional Materials – Higher performance polymers for testing prototype functionality
  • Medical Materials – Biocompatible materials for medical applications
  • Dental Materials – Biocompatible materials for dental applications
  • Support Materials – Includes soluble, water soluble and gel-like materials to support overhangs and complicated geometries

Applications

With the ability to accurately replicate realistic colours and textures, the J850 Prime is ideally suited to producing concept models and functional parts in applications such as:

  • Consumer products
  • Packaging
  • Rapid prototyping
  • Product design
