Industrial workhorse FDM 3D Printer
The Stratasys Fortus 450mc is a proven industrial FDM 3D printer designed to deliver strong, accurate, and repeatable parts day in and day out.
The Stratasys Fortus 450mc is a proven industrial FDM 3D printer designed to deliver strong, accurate, and repeatable parts for demanding manufacturing environments. With a large build envelope of 406 × 355 × 406 mm, it enables the production of sizable components, multiple parts in a single run, and complex geometries that rival traditionally manufactured components.
The Fortus 450mc is a mid-tier printer for the demanding applications of professional industrial additive manufacturing. Designed as an industrial workhorse, it reduces design and build times, optimises
manufacturing workflows, decreases overall costs and promotes factory innovation.
The Fortus 450mc is compatible with a wide variety of polymers, many of which can be supplied by Stratasys. These Stratasys Preferred materials are compliments by Stratasys Validated materials while the open materials ecosystem allows you to use a vast range of third party materials. The hardened components cater for abrasive, filled and tough polymer blends which include high-strength,
chemical- and fire-resistant materials as well as carbon fibre reinforced polymers.
Stratasys offer a wide range of Preferred Materials for their FDM 3D printers which have undergone rigorous testing and are fully tuned and tested to provide optimal results. They also provide even further materials design freedom by offering a range of Validated Materials that have undergone an abbreviated testing process that will still yield great results.
Available materials include the following (which may be sold under various tradenames and compositions):
The Stratasys Fortus 450mc is a widely accepted industrial 3D printer with an install-base of 2000+ around the world. It is being used in a wide array of industries such as:
in applications such as rapid prototyping, production of tooling and for on-demand, low cost production of components in low volumes.
Run time – 1:32 min
This video originally recorded in 2021 outlines how many of these systems have been installed and why companies are turning to the Fortus 450mc. In short, it sets the benchmark for 3D printing on a commercial scale providing consistent, accurate, repatable results …. quickly and reliably!
