Iconeus – Functional Ultrasound Systems

Iconeus was founded in 2016 by the inventors of functional ultrasound. The technology was first published in 2011 and in the subsequent years they developed a commercially ready, easy-to-use functional ultrasound system for imaging cerebral blood flow and microvasculature using their patented technologies. This culminated in the launch of the Iconeus One in 2019.

The Iconeus One uniquely combines sensitivity, speed and high resolution and has enabled it to lead the field in preclinical studies on anaesthetised or awake animals and it is now being proposed for applications in clinical research too.

To date there are many installations around the world in prestigious institutions, both in the private and public academic sectors. Here, their technology is used to gain a better understanding of neurological disease and enable finding treatments.
