The Stratasys J5 Digital Anatomy Printer is a breakthrough in medical 3D printing, designed to replicate the look, feel, and biomechanical response of human anatomy with unrivalled accuracy. By combining advanced PolyJet™ technology, validated material presets and a compact design, it empowers surgeons, educators, and medical device developers to create highly realistic anatomical models that go far beyond traditional 3D printing.

With access to specialised materials such as TissueMatrix™, BoneMatrix™, GelMatrix™ and RadioMatrix™, the J5 Digital Anatomy Printer enables the production of models that simulate everything from soft tissue and ligaments to bone structures and vascular networks. Models can even be made radiopaque, allowing them to appear under CT and X-ray with controllable Hounsfield Unit (HU) values—essential for diagnostic training and device testing.

The system’s multi-material and full-colour printing allows the integration of different tissue types in a single model, producing lifelike textures, mechanical properties and visual realism. With resolutions down to 18 microns per layer, fine anatomical structures such as vessels, cavities and soft-tissue interfaces are reproduced with exceptional fidelity.

Out of the box, the J5 Digital Anatomy includes over 300 validated presets, developed in collaboration with leading hospitals and research institutions. These presets allow users to easily create anatomies that replicate clinical pathologies and patient-specific conditions. For advanced users, the Digital Anatomy Creator software enables full customisation of tissue behaviours and material blends, ensuring unmatched flexibility in research and training applications.

Compact and office-friendly, the J5 Digital Anatomy Printer fits seamlessly into hospitals, medical schools, and R&D labs, making it easy to integrate into existing workflows. By providing realistic, repeatable and ethical alternatives to cadavers and animal models, it helps reduce costs, improve training outcomes, and accelerate medical innovation.

Materials

Stratasys offer a range of materials that allow you to create realistic medical models and biocompatible components. The range include:

  • TissueMatrix™ – The softest material commercially available. Ideal for replicating the look and feel of heart tissue.
  • BoneMatrix™ – The Flex-Rigid Medical PolyJet material specially designed to simulate real bone (external shell) for the medical Industry prototypes, Surgery simulation and presentation tools manufacturing.
  • GelMatrix™ – A gel-like support material for medical applications use. Easy removal from blood vessels with inner diameters as small as 1mm and wall thickness as low as 1mm.
  • Biocompatible Clear – Biocompatible Clear is a rigid medical rapid prototyping material with various biocompatibility approvals. It features high dimensional stability and colorless transparency. Ideal for applications requiring prolonged skin contact or mucosal short term contact.
  • Rigid Ivory Biocompatible – MED615 is a biocompatible rigid medical rapid prototyping material with an Ivory shade. It features high dimensional and has various biocompatibility approvals. Ideal for applications requiring prolonged skin contact or mucosal short term contact.
