This on-demand service is designed to provide researchers with cost-effective, small-batch production of high-quality, custom metal powders.

The development of new materials for Powder Metallurgy technologies, especially for Additive Manufacturing (AM), is a complex and expensive process, demanding powders with exceptional qualities such as sphericity, flowability, lack of satellites, narrow particle size distribution (PSD) and low oxygen content.

Conventional atomisation methods, such as gas or plasma atomisation, have limited efficiency in the given powder size range, like 15-63 µm. Optimised for large-scale production, these techniques require minimum feedstock quantities of tens of kilograms, which makes them economically impractical and inefficient for the small, experimental batches needed in R&D. The challenge is even bigger when developing next-generation alloys that incorporate high-value elements like Scandium, Hafnium, or Rhenium, where material costs can exceed €1,000 per kilogram.

The new Atomisation Service by AMAZEMET includes:

In a significant move toward research collaboration, AMAZEMET commits to full transparency by sharing all relevant processing parameters with the client.
